Kat Dennings is a Pennsylvanian born in Bryn Mawr on 13 June 1986. The name she was given was Katherine Victoria Litwack. The mother of her child, Ellen, was a poet and speech therapist while her dad, Gerald, was a molecular pharmacologist and college professor. Dennings was the youngest in a Jewish family. Dennings attended homeschooling, but attended school for a short time. Since she wanted to get into acting at a young age so the arrangement of homeschooling made the most sense as she was able to finish high school at the age of 14. In fact, at nine she already appeared in commercials. When she graduated from high school, she moved with her family in Los Angeles in order to explore acting.
