
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27 of 1976. He was born in southern California. He attended Huntington Beach High School and was a star football and basketball player. Gonzalez continued to excel in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receiving nine receptions, and set it again. The following year, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. After graduating from high school Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was chosen at number 13 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. The Chiefs traded Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't catch fewer than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
