
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakout role was playing the private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) during which time the actor was nominated five times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in an Drama Series. The award was presented to him in 1985. From 2010 until the year 2010, Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he's played the character of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in the small town of New York City. He has also been featured in nine television films which are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck also played the character of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady (90). In addition, he has appeared in more than 50 different TV and film roles after Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball.
